Who knew that brows would be SO important nowadays?! I remember the first time I ever plucked my brows. It was in 7th grade and I asked this girl in my gym class, who is now my best friend of almost two decades, if she plucked her brows and if it hurt. She told me no and I said LIAR!!!! But still, plucked my brows for quite a few years! I was definitely an over-plucker. It wasn’t until after high school that I started waxing and realized I had gone too far. So I then started the process of growing them back out. Not fun at all. I’ve gotten to the point where I just do them myself now! And I love me a good thick, bold brow!
So below, you will find my step by step process on how I clean them up and fill them in!
Here is my before picture. It has probably been about a month since I last cleaned them up.

My left brow is a LOT sparser than my right.
What I do first is mark where I want my brows to start and end and where I want my arch with a brow pencil, as seen below. You can use the brow pencil to line this up as well. If you hold it vertical to your face along the side of your nose, that’s where your brow should start. If you hold it diagonal from the bottom of your nose and across the bottom of your eye, thats where it should end. I can try and do a video of this on Instagram later. For the arch, you do the same for the end of your brow, except line the pencil up so that it crosses over your iris.

Next, I outline my brows pretty heavily with how I’d like the shape to look. This is the best way to do it in my opinion because you can get a general idea of shape, but if you don’t like it, it’s easy to wipe off the brow pencil and try again! I recommend trying this a few times if it’s your first time. Make sure your happy with the shape before any plucking is done! Below is the shape I went with.

One of my brows naturally has a more defined arch than the other and I just leave it because, Brows are sisters, NOT twins!
So once I’ve outlined them, I pluck all the hairs outside of the lines! I use a little spoolie to brush the hairs up and down so I make sure I get all the strays. Sometimes if I have extra time I’ll trim the hairs so they are a little nearer without brow gel.
Below are my brows completely shaped with the brow pencil wiped off.

I don’t mind my brows not filled in, I just much prefer a bolder look.
To fill them in I begin at the tail end of my brow, drag that out just a tiny bit farther as mine won’t grow where I want them to. Then I just use tiny little strokes to fill in the rest of the brow! I generally use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in dark brown, but I also like the Elf brow pencil in taupe if I’m on a budget. I either use the Anastasia Beverly Hills or Ulta brow gel in clear.
Here is my final look!

Please let me know if you have any questions and I can try and answer them for you!
